Facebook have announced that in 2018 their aspirations are to educate 50,000 female entrepreneurs across the UK through the #SheMeansBusiness programme.
In 2017, our very own Janet Bebb, Social Progress MD was selected by Enterprise Nation to be one of the Facebook She Means Business Accredited Trainers. And on Monday 20th November 2017 was invited, along with the other Facebook #SheMeansBusiness Accredited Trainers, to lunch with representatives from Facebook and Enterprise Nation.
We each received a gift from Facebook by way of a ‘thank you’ for their input and support. A Facebook embossed notebook and pen in a Facebook wooden box. Janet loves it & will treasure it always!
The day kicked off with an event held by Facebook and the Department for International Trade (DIT) titled Business Beyond Borders
Which covered:-
- Selling and growing online with Facebook and Instagram
- Cross-Border – Ad targeting trackers
- Creative best practices
- Success stories
There were lots of practical take away’s and examples of businesses that are seeing some fantastic results from using Facebook & Instagram to promote their businesses both through targeted adverts and creative content. For ideas on a budget try Facebook – Mobile Studio
It was lovely to briefly review and assess what had worked well with the She Means Business programme in 2017 and how it might change in 2018.
It was also great to catch up with some of the other Facebook #SheMeansBusiness Accredited Trainers. We haven’t had the chance to meet in person since going to Facebook in Dublin in February 2017.
The programme which was launched in 2016 has this year in 2017, helped 10,000 women to grow in confidence in their social media marketing.
